Franscell is a journalist whose work regularly appears in publications such as the Washington Post, Chicago Sun-Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Denver Post, San Jose Mercury-News, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

He is presently the managing editor of the Beaumont (Texas) Enterprise, a 60,000-circulation Hearst daily. Before that, he was a senior writer at the Denver Post, where he wandered the American West in search of stories about the region's evolving culture, society and economy. Shortly after Sept. 11, the Post dispatched him to cover the Middle East during the first few months of the war in Afghanistan. Franscell is a graduate of Casper-Kelly Walsh (1975) and the University of Wyoming (1979).

Winner of the 1996 Wyoming Literary Fellowship and longtime Wyoming newspaperman, Ron Franscell's previously published novels include ANGEL FIRE (1998), listed by the San Francisco Chronicle among the 100 Best Novels of the 20th Century West; and THE DEADLINE (1999), a taut mystery that was in the Poisoned Pen’s top 25 best crime fictions that year. About Marvin Zimmerman

All his life, Marvin has been an ardent environmentalist and lover of the natural world. The plot of this novel is in many ways his reaction to the desperate situation faced by the planet as a result of humanity's unrelenting focus on growth without constraint. He wrote The Ovum Factor to help remind readers that our future ultimately depends on protecting the natural world as its survival depends on us.

About Suzanne Goldenberg

Suzanne Goldenberg is an award-winning journalist for The Guardian and has been the newspaper’s US Correspondent since 2002. In January 2003, she based herself in Baghdad to cover the last days of Saddam Hussein's rule and the US invasion of Iraq. She was among a small group of reporters who covered the war from the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad.

In addition to Iraq, she covered the war in Lebanon in 2006, the Palestinian uprising from 2000-2002, the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in 1996, and the wars in Chechnya, Georgia, and Nagorno Karabakh in the former Soviet Union in the early 1990s.

She has reported from the remotest corners of India and Pakistan —including the world’s highest battlefield, the Siachen glacier. She has travelled with the Karen rebels in Burma, and interviewed the Burmese opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, when she was being kept under house arrest.

Goldenberg won the Bayeux prize for war reporting for her coverage of Iraq. She has won the prize of Reporter of the Year from What the Papers Say, the Foreign Press Association, and the London Press Club for her coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She has also won the James Cameron award. She was nominated for an award for her coverage of the 2006 war in Lebanon.

Goldenberg was born and raised in Canada. After joining the Guardian in London in 1988, she was the paper’s South Asia Correspondent, and Middle East Correspondent, before her move to the US. She is the author of Pride of Small Nations: the Caucasus and Post-Soviet Disorder (1994) and co-author of Transcaucasian Boundaries with John F. R. Wright, and Richard Schofield (1995). She lives in Washington, DC with her family.

About Robert Martin

Robert Martin, the son of two opera singers from Philadelphia, is a conservatory trained French horn player and a gifted athlete with a genius IQ. A classic overachiever, he taught himself to play piano and all the brass instruments in elementary school. He learned all the reed instruments shortly thereafter. In high school, aside from being a national honor society academic student, an undefeated wrestler, and an unusually gifted gymnast and baseball player, he was first chair horn in the Pennsylvania All-State Orchestra and Band and number one bass in the All-State Choir. He studied French horn for three years at the Temple University College of Music on a full scholarship. Then he auditioned for Mason Jones, principle horn with the Philadelphia Orchestra and was accepted into the prestigious Curtis Institute to study with Jones. At Curtis, he played week after week under the greatest conductors in the world. After three semesters, the lure of rock and roll drew him away from the classics and into the life of a touring musician, playing R&B, jazz, and rock, where he utilized all his versatility as a keyboard player, sax player and vocalist.

After a few years of recording and touring with the successful group Orleans, he auditioned for Frank Zappa and would perform on all of Frank's tours and live albums from that time on. In between tours with Zappa, he toured as Musical Director for Bette Midler, and toured or performed with Paul McCartney, Michael McDonald, Stevie Nicks, Boz Scaggs, Etta James (on tour with The Rolling Stones), and many others. In 1983, he recorded a solo album for MCA Records. He has recorded with Prince, the Moody Blues, Lyle Lovett, Gladys Knight, Glenn Frey, Bobby Caldwell, The Stylistics, The O'Jays, Sheila E, and a long list of other artists. For Wilson Pickett, Robert performed keyboards, horns, backing vocals, did all the arrangements and co-produced Pickett's 1987 Grammy nominated album. Since 1986, he has owned and operated his own studio and branched out into programming, producing, mixing, mastering and music for film and television, including composing for the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning television show Cybill, Baywatch, Martial Law, and Lifetime Television’s Intimate Portrait series. He has composed and engineered music for various national advertising campaigns including Mattel and Radio Shack. Somehow, he also managed to find the time to earn a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Received an undergraduate degree from the Political Science Department of the University of California at Berkeley in 1969,graduating magna cum laude. Received Ph.D. in Political Theory from the Political Science Department at the University of California Berkeley, passing orals with distinction. Born and raised in Oakland California he attended St. Joseph’s College studing for the Catholic priesthood. Worked for the California State Legislature in the Assembly Office of Research as well as the Assembly Government Organization Committee. Adam majored in public communication and theology at Biola University in suburban Los Angeles. Christing began performing for the public as a teenager. At the age of 17, Adam became a member of the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. For the next two decades, Adam has engaged audiences with his comedy and magic. His humorous ability has propelled him into more than 3,000 live performances for organizations in 44 of the 50 states. In 1990, Adam founded the company, Clean Comedians, which helped launch the career of dozens of stand-up comics. He sold the company in 2005. Christing remains among North America’s top corporate entertainers and presents his hilarious interactive show for audiences across the U.S., Canada and soon China

Adam is the producer and director of A Mormon President; a documentary film about Joseph Smith’s campaign to become U.S. President. This timely production was filmed on location at many of the historic sites connected to the life and death of the Latter Day Saint prophet. Adam has been researching this subject - a compelling, and now exceedingly timely story about church and state - for eight years.
